I have been fascinated and mesmerized by the moon my entire life. My mom tells me of how when I was younger than 5, I would sneak outside on full moon nights. Feeling panicked when she would find me outside, my mom would ask me why I was outside in the middle of the night? I would answer her saying I didn’t want to sleep because the little sun was up!

I suppose I just didn’t want to miss out on an opportunity to bask in the moon’s brilliant illumination... this is still true for me today!

We all have a 6th sense... whether we call it intuition, instinct, or gut feeling.

I believe that we learn to use this innate sense from an early age. For me, harnessing my intuition from a very young age caused me to embark on a journey of people pleasing by way of self-denial. My keen sense of intuitive knowing kept me safe as my hyperfocus was always on what others wanted. I could read a room, placate difficult personalities, and knew what needed to be said to whom and at what time.

Fast forward to my early 40s. The chaos of my divorce was finally subsiding, and my beautiful and amazing kids were either almost or completely grown. It was at this time that I came face to face with me, Debbi.

I didn’t know her…

I had no idea what her interests or passions where, and I definitely had no idea what her purpose was!! I sensed I liked this girl looking back at me in the mirror and was overcome with this deep driving desire to get to know her… to give her permission to be all that she had always wanted to be… even if she didn’t yet know what that was.

I dove in… found teachers I resonated with, attended workshops, researched intuition, energy healing and connected with lunar cycles in a way that taught me to ebb and flow between creating and envisioning my dreams. I made it my mission to not only get to know myself, but to accept ALL that I would discover about myself and to love what ever version of Debbi that would reveal herself to me.

Too often, I had sacrificed my well-being to meet the expectations of others or avoid confrontations and discomfort. As I began doing this work with myself I realized how magical and insightful and unique I truly was... in fact, I started seeing everyone around me - family, friends and strangers - as their unique selves as well. This was one of the most magical experiences of my life!!

In my formal trainings, I have received certifications in Intuitive Coaching, Astrology, the Akashic Records, Breath Therapy, Yoga and Professional Facilitation. The commonality that I discovered in each of these trainings was meditation… I am in awe of the vastness of strength, insight and wisdom that is made available to me when I pause, breathe and sit in my own stillness.

This journey of remembering who I am is not a journey where I am rushing to a destination; it is a journey in which I check in with myself, connect to the world around me and am open to learn something new everyday.

This path back to myself helped me understand that my passion is to help others do the same. I know, from experience that the truest fulfillment comes from living authentically, honoring my needs, trusting my intuition, and learning to say no when necessary.

I created MoonMagic.ca to help others align with the natural rhythms of the Moon for the purpose of re-aligning with self and embracing joy and prosperity on their own terms.

I certainly do not have all the answers, but I trust in the wisdom and insight that each phase of the moon provides me each month. This doesn't mean that I don't have bad days with the good ones... following the cycles of the moon simply provides me insight and understanding into my days, weeks and months which allows me to be proactive in my daily experiences and decisions, rather than reactive.

I absolutely still get mired in fear, self-doubt and overwhelm just like everyone else. I am far from perfectly polished, and I will always enjoy a good laugh at myself!

Despite my many shortcomings, my commitment is to share with you the very best of what I’m learning and living. I will share poignant insight, timeless wisdom and consistently show up with an unapologetic devotion to help you live your most aligned, expressive and meaningful life.
